Often, as soon as they feel the onset of the symptoms associated with this condition, they will take some kind of heartburn relief which can be purchased over the counter at their local drugstore or pharmacists. But, not only are there medications which can be purchased over the counter to treat this condition, if it becomes more severe, then the person may need to have a medication prescribed to treat it by their doctor.

When eating a meal it is best that you eat slowly, and not too much, and also make sure you chew every mouthful of food completely, before you actually swallow, can help to prevent heartburn from occurring. Also, it may be wise to stop eating before you actually become too full and never exercise immediately after you have eaten. Generally, it is best to wait around 2 to 3 hours before you carry out any form of exercise. Also, if you eat a reasonably large meal in the evening then do so about 3 hours before you are due to go to bed.
Also, when you are looking for ways to relieve the symptoms associated with heartburn, it is important that you ensure that you drink adequate amounts of water. Sometimes a person may find that they suffer from heartburn after or during exercise because they may well have become dehydrated.
As well as making changes to your dietary habits, there are other kinds of remedies you may want to consider using for helping to relieve the symptoms of heartburn and below we provide a couple that you may want to consider.
1. Eat either some watermelon or banana or cucumber every hour or so.

3. If you are looking for a quick way to provide yourself with heartburn relief then drink a glass of cold milk. Not only does it help to relieve the symptoms of this condition, but also helps to reduce the amount of acidity in the stomach.
