PISMO BEACH
California

Pismo Beach is located midway between Los Angeles and San Francisco along California's coastal Highway 101 and Pacific Coast Highway. It is the perfect place for visitors to step back in time and enjoy the friendliness of a cozy beachside community. The soft sand and wide shoreline are ideal for romantic evening walks. Pismo Beach is known for its near-perfect year-round weather, an average of 72°.

The clean ocean air lends a refreshing dimension to golf at Pismo's 9-hole beach course and putting green as well as nearby championship courses, specializing in panoramic ocean view fairways and friendly service to fit your game.

Wine growing in the area around Pismo Beach dates back to the Missionary Days of California viticulture. The Franciscan padres who settled California in the late 1700's planted the first grapevines. We have tasting rooms and tours to meet your needs.

Every winter, thousands of Monarch butterflies spend the months of November through February in an oceanfront grove of eucalyptus and pine trees at Pismo State Beach. These amazing creatures flutter and soar, or huddle in massive clusters, enthralling visitors from all over the United States and beyond. An average of 50,000 Monarchs makes this one of the largest wintering sites in the US and the most visited site in the world.

The Great American Melodrama is the best live entertainment on the Central Coast. Theatergoers are welcomed into a comfortable atmosphere of cabaret tables with sawdust on the floor and honky-tonk music in the air. Professional performers gather to present top-notch productions of great classic comedies, musicals, melodramas, and wonderful vaudeville revues.

Shopping in Pismo Beach includes our Prime Outlet Center featuring 40 widely known retail stores, unique downtown shops with local products, antique shops, and art galleries.

California's only castle, Hearst Castle, is a beautiful drive to the north. This one-hour drive is amazingly beautiful, along Pacific Coast Highway. During most months, the Elephant Seals can be viewed up close and personal at special viewing areas.

Pismo Beach has many annual events. Celebrate our nation's independence with live music and a grand Firework display from the pier on July 4th. June and October offer hot rods and endless summer car shows. October also brings the infamous Clam Festival and Jubilee Jazz Festival. The Clam Fest has been a favorite for 60 years in Pismo Beach, with a clam chowder cook-off, clam dig, live music; everyone "digs" it. The ever-popular Jubilee by the Sea Dixieland Jazz Festival has been going strong for 30 years, with astounding, well-known bands. All venues are handicapped accessible. In November, Pismo Beach presents a Veteran's Celebration by honoring our heroes with a memorial service on the pier.

Pismo Beach has one of the finest Recreational Vehicle Resorts on the Central Coast.
